Its been two days and our system is still down. We can't access to our 'My documents' nor could we access to our main database for all of our work in my department. We can't even access to any of our internal network. I feel that our work has been paralysed because of this. Fortunately, I can go online, thank goodness! But technologies are so fragile. Think of it, how easily technologies can be corrupted or how easily a virus can enter into our system. Not just computers, even a handphone can get corrupted.
What am I doing now? Organising my shredding papers. Apparently, I have not shred confidential documents in a while. So, yeah..work has completely come to a halt as no one can access work via out network (which by the way, is where most of us save our documents). Can you imagine life without computers or worse yet, life wothout handphones?
Have you experience going out from the house and realise that your handphone is not with you? Would you turn back and get your handphone or just continue driving? Are we dependent on technology? Something to ponder about....
I hope our server will be up and running soon. No one can do anything at this point, some of my colleagues are desperate to do work as they need to close out work before year end.
